Inspiration
Van Cleef & Arpels gave Ambre Impérial a second life as Le Parfum. The house deliberately sought contrast: the same amber, set deeper and with more tension between warm and cool.

Pink pepper prickles coolly, cinnamon answers with glow. Beneath that interplay lie benzoin and sandalwood, so soft that the scent seems never to end.

Laid next to the Eau de Parfum, this version feels like the same dress in velvet instead of silk. The pink pepper adds a pleasant freshness at first, almost tingling, which makes it less predictable than you would expect from amber. After an hour or two the sandalwood arrives, creamy and quiet. We like to spray it on the neck just before a concert or a dinner; the next morning it is still on your scarf. A tip from the boutique: one spray is enough.
