Absolu honours Louis XIV, the Sun King, his innate power and his unconditional love of beauty. Trudon once supplied candles to his court, and this scent recalls the Hall of Mirrors, where incense and orange blossom mingled with the light of a thousand flames.

Absolu has something ceremonial about it for us, yet never turns stiff. The saffron and cardamom give a radiant opening, and then comes that beautiful pairing of incense with orris, powdery and smoky at once. Later it turns soft and woody. We wear it for important moments: a presentation, a wedding, an evening at the opera.
