Inspiration
7 Miglia takes its name from the Mille Miglia, the legendary road race across Italy. Hamid Merati-Kashani had the rhythm of a full week in mind, seven days at full throttle, and gave that tempo the shape of sizzling Calabrian bergamot with a smoky, woody edge.

Bergamot leaps out at once, juicy and a touch bitter, while orange blossom lends it something sunny. Elemi brings a resinous, peppery freshness to the heart, with jasmine glowing softly through it. Oakmoss lays a classic chypre floor underneath, and tonka makes that floor warm and round.

For us, 7 Miglia is the Fabbrica you reach for on a Monday morning. It is energetic without turning shrill, and the oakmoss gives it a grown-up, slightly old-world elegance we often miss in modern citrus scents. In the salon we notice it appeals to men and women alike who favour a crisp, fresh style. After a few hours a dry, faintly sweet shadow of tonka remains. We like wearing it ourselves in spring, with an open collar and the car windows rolled down.
