Inspiration
In Persian and Urdu, a mehmaan is the guest who is always warmly received. Anyone who has stepped into a family home in the Middle East knows that first moment: the door opens, bukhoor smoke drifts through the hallway and someone is already making tea. Tola wanted to capture that feeling of welcome in a bottle.
Fragrance Family
Floral, woody and musky
The Olfactive Composition
Top notes: Lavender, lemon, bergamot, tagetes
Heart notes: Cedarwood, hyacinth, rose, jasmine
Base notes: Amber, cypriol, rock rose, musk, patchouli, oud
The Signature of Mehmaan
Lavender and lemon open brightly, tagetes adds a green, slightly fruity touch. Hyacinth and rose form a floral heart over cedar. Then comes the smoke: amber, cistus, cypriol and oud, with patchouli and musk as a soft hem.
What our ParfuMaria team thinks of this fragrance
For us Mehmaan is the most hospitable scent in the collection, and we mean that literally. The lavender in the opening is fresh and clean, like a freshly ironed napkin, and the hyacinth then makes it feel almost like spring. Only after an hour do you notice the smoke of oud and cistus settling beneath, without ever turning heavy. It stays close to the skin yet leaves a recognisable trail in a scarf. We like to wear it when we host guests ourselves or when we visit someone. A lovely first introduction to oud for those who still find it daunting.
