Inspiration
Theme 30 of Parfumerie Générale revolves around tree moss, seen in the glow of the aurora borealis. Pierre Guillaume pictured lichen and snow lighting up green and violet in the polar night. The result is a moss warmer and more luminous than in the classic chypre.

The Signature of Alphaora 30
Blood orange gives a juicy, faintly bitter start. Albizia blossom and hinoki sap bring a soft flower and a cool Japanese wood. The Assam moss accord, with hints of dried fruit and tobacco, rests on a cloud of ambergris.

To us Alphaora is the proof that moss can have glamour too. It smells green and damp, but the ambergris makes it radiant rather than gloomy. We like it in winter, when darkness falls early. A colleague compares it to a velvet coat in forest green.
