Cire Trudon - Solis Rex - Perfumed Candle

Inspired by the elaborate parquetry of Château de Versailles’s famous Hall of Mirrors, this regal perfume radiates vapours of wax, candelabra and palace. A sumptuous trail of incense weaves through a tapestry of coniferous trees, cut with solar rays of citrus fruits.

Louis XIV, called “The Sun King” was King of France from 1643 to 1715. Eccentric and majestic, as an adolescent he participated in a royal ballet in which he appeared as the sun. He chose the day star as his emblem because it gives life to all things. Louis XIV symbolises the grandeur of France. He made France into a military, political and cultural influence. He instigated the construction of the magnificent Palace of Versailles, which became the residence of the kings of France and their courts starting in 1682.

Maison Trudon - L'ART DU CIRIER

Henri-Louis Duhamel du Monceau (1700-1782) was elected an associate member of France’s Royal Academy of Sciences in 1730. He actively participated in publishing the Description des Arts et des Métiers (Description of Arts and Crafts) collection by writing over twenty leaflets. One was dedicated to the “Candler’s Art”.

To help write the article, Duhamel du Monceau solicited Master Trudon whose expertise was invaluable. The text explained how wax is worked and then bleached to create church candles, flambeaux and torches … This leaflet confirmed, at the highest level, the skills and expertise of Cire Trudon.

Love it!
