Bond No. 9 - Hudson Yards

For the first time in fragrance history, a major, full-blown fragrance collection was launched in 2003 as homage to the city that never sleeps, loved by French founder and perfumery master Laurice Rahme. The name of this fragrance collection is Bond No. 9 (which is also the address of its headquarters boutique at 9 Bond Street, in NoHo). The city it celebrates is none other than New York – the love for the city, its energy and dynamism, its immense variety and endless verve, its 24/7 can-do spirit are now enclosed in a bottle. The Bond No. 9 collection of women’s, men’s, and unisex eaux de parfum has a dual mission: restore artistry to perfumery, and mark every New York neighbourhood (from Riverside Drive to Bleecker Street) with a scent of its own. Each fragrance represents a specific downtown, midtown, or uptown locale, with a city-wide sensibility. The bottles, created by refined glass company Luigi Bormioli and inspired by Andy Warhol’s pop art imagery, are now collectible objects. The logo recalls the signs of the subway, another homage to the city. With new introductions every season, Bond No. 9 infuses the island of Manhattan with diverse unique fragrances.

Bond No. 9's springtime scents are always about new beginnings. But our dewy fresh Spring 2014 eau de parfum celebrates a new beginning that hasn't even begun yet. Its nameà Hudson Yards. Notes: Wet Petals of Lily of the Valley, Sparkling Freesia, Pink Pepper Oil, Peony Buds, Rose Oil Bulgaria, Vibrant Lychee, Orange Flower Absolute, Iris Absolute, White Ray of Musk.

Well you know Bond No. 9 has a mission! The mission is to map the entire City of New York with fragrances: Iconic streets and neighborhoods, hotspots, parks and squares. Yes, they even have a fancy Avenue. For spring 2014 Bond No. 9 has finally surpassed themselves in the choice of an inspiring Location: They have selected a place that doesn’t actually exist and is only just emerging. We are talking about Hudson Yards, the massive abandoned area at the western edge of Manhattan, adjacent to Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen, and to a modest extent, the tip of the Hudson River.

Inspiration
Imagine how new, towering skyscrapers will emerge in the westernmost Midtown area (the highest with 408 m will even tower above the Empire State Building). Imagine a bustling mini-metropolis of ultra modern apartment buildings, large office complexes, new cultural facilities and luxury hotels, shops and markets and an underground station for the extended No. 7 line and also a ferry terminal. And you are still in New York!

The Fragrance
The top note combines sensual lily of the valley with innocent freesia and spicy pink pepper. The heart thrills with a floral bouquet of dewy peony buds and Bulgarian roses and an intoxicating touch of wine-like lychee nuances. The base offers a woody-citrus wealth of orange blossoms, iris absolue and white musk that captures the flair and resonating atmosphere of Hudson Yards.

The Flacon
The Flacon of Hudson Yards is presented in a neon-like, iridescent chartreuse-green, and reflects both the location and the fragrance itself. Held against the light, the fascinating glass surface of the flacon shimmers like transparent lace. On the neck of the flacon a fresh blossoming flower is presented - as magical as the imaginary green rose in James Joyce’s most important literary novel,” A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.”The flower is on the 100 ml size only.

Great perfume for the summer. It puts me in a good mood instantly.
I recently discovered this brand and I´ve already purchased a couple of their perfumes. I am always happily surprised with them.
